Iran is willing to resume nuclear discussions with Washington on condition that it is handled with "respect" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has announced.

Abbas Araghchi stated solely negotiations was effective, and shared recent overtures had come from go-betweens to reopen talks with the US government. He said Iran possessed no secret atomic facilities, and Iran was not yet able to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit bombed nuclear sites for protective measures.

Walking a Difficult Route

The foreign minister is navigating a difficult route since Iran wishes not to be perceived to be operating from a situation of weakness, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had arisen more resilient defensively and emotionally from the Israeli-US attack on its atomic facilities in June.

He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material on home soil that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the deadlock in the earlier negotiations.

Prior Talks Abruptly Terminated

The previous five rounds of discussions between the US and Iran were brought to an abrupt and bitter termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with Washington's assistance, struck Iran's enrichment centers in a 12-day war that concluded with the US president asserting the locations had been destroyed. Following this, Western states employed their right to reimpose global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Proposed

Tehran representatives claimed they felt they had attained a "ideal resolution" to the nuclear fuel concern in previous talks, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could process nuclear material. The two nations would have been able to claim victory since local refinement would have remained and the US could be certain that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the discussions that American atomic experts could function within Iranian territory, but that was a logical implication of the consortium proposal. Representatives stated repeatedly they had reached agreement with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to disintegrate due to "detractors in America".

Existing Situation

Iran's diplomats said the consortium offer was now off the table, but it seems highly likely the proposal could be resurrected in various formats if negotiations resume.

The American leader recently stated he had been getting signals that Iran sought to restart talks, but privately Iran's diplomats state they are not yet receiving clear proposals from America either straightforwardly or from key regional mediators, such as Qatar, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Iran's state department has been charged of passivity in the wake of the US president's straightforward manner, but Iran says diplomacy is not part of a performance.

Diplomatic Stance

In his remarks to the gathering, aimed to paint the US as a controlling nation that abuses the concept of international law, Araghchi stated the 12-day war showed the dispute could not be settled by armed force. He stated the strikes started with a Washington's ultimatum for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is convinced the first strikes by Israel were executed with full US knowledge and cooperation, making confidence challenging to reestablish.

Diplomacy Remains the Final Solution

The foreign minister declared: "Tehran was not the one that had deserted diplomacy; it was America and the Western nations that had consistently attempted to enforce their desires during the discussions. Negotiations can still be active and continues the final solution to settle disagreements, but its criteria, regulations and fundamentals must be adhered to."

Recovery and Recovery

In what is described by Iranian officials as the battle of restoration and recovery, Araghchi stated he was confident Iran's defence capabilities "are much stronger than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been rebuilt. We acquired multiple understandings from this war; we have identified our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of the opponent."

He stated: "We effectively endured this engagement. Our enrichment knowledge, which they planned to eliminate, remains in place.
