The Fifth Toy Story Film Teaser Sets Woody and Buzz Against a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 years since the original Toy Story film was released, establishing Pixar as a leading animation studio and bringing viewers to iconic characters like the cowboy doll (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the plot but leaving fans wondering how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang
The preview shows Bonnie — who received Andy's toys when he left for college — getting a latest toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the characters appear to consider it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is why Woody is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, Pixar will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him show up in the familiar setting unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?
Connections from the Last Installment
At the very least, some elements are continuing from the prior film. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. The clip displays the badge pinned to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the driving force among the group.
